Well, it seems I have unintentionally begun a tradition of one post per calendar year. I really didn't mean to do that, I promise. When I registered this thing, I thought I had all these great ideas to put into writing, someone would read it by accident, and offer me a lucrative publishing deal. Apparently you have to actually write stuff down for that to happen. Who knew?

I suppose the obvious topic for me to write about is politics, since we have an election looming. Not gonna happen. I plan on voting "none of the above" and running screaming into the night on Election Day. I have yet to be impressed by any of the choices. Besides, I hate politics. I am a public employee, and have a hard time viewing the elected folks as anything other than "the temps". So what do I write about?

I like food, but food blogs are a dime a dozen, and I'm not photographic enough to post really good pictures, anyway. I'll probably write about food occasionally, just because I can.

I'm a gadget junkie, but I won't write about them until manufacturers start sending me free stuff to test. Want a good review? Don't make me send it back. Hear that Land Rover, Rolex, Dom Perignon, Jameson's, and the U.S. Mint? (Brand names mentioned in shallow attempt to have Google's servers latch onto them.)

I could write about my kids. I probably will, but I don't really want this to turn into some new age modern dad kinda thing.
